Personal and Family Related Responsibilities Leave

IOGC promotes life-work balance and offers a paid leave plan to help employees with family related responsibilities, pursuant to Terms and Conditions of Employment for staff and management, including but not limited to:

  • Illness in family
  • Birth or adoption of a child
  • Bereavement

IOGC also offers a flexible Leave without Pay program to help employees with:

  • Education
  • Maternity and parental leave with top-up allowance*
  • Care for immediate family
  • Long-term care of parent

* IOGC provides a top-up allowance to employees on maternity and parental leave. The allowance is the difference between the employee's employment insurance benefits while on leave and 93% of salary.
